The Birth of Eleanor - An Empowering Farmington Home Birth

I always come to know and love my birth clients, but it is even better when someone I already know and love decides to hire me for their birth. When Whitney asked me if I traveled to her area for birth, I jokingly replied, “I will for you!” without knowing she was pregnant. I was so surprised when she told me she was and wanted me to make her birth video. I probably shrieked out loud because of how excited I was! I have known Whitney for almost as long as I have been a birth worker (since 2015), and her entire birth team was made up of friends of mine.

I got a text message as I was heading to bed that Whitney was in labor, and there was no chance I was getting to sleep knowing that. They asked me to come not long after that, and I made the hour-long drive up to Farmington in Davis County. Whitney was surrounded by so much love and joy! Between the Davis County Midwives, her best friends, her husband, mom, sister, and even her Dad popped in for a bit, making her circle of support pretty impressive.

Eleanor kept my trend of babies being born on a Tuesday (four in a row!) by being born early Tuesday morning. It is always fun putting together a birth video and editing pictures because I can re-live each birth and create art from my images and videos. This will probably live on as one of my all-time favorites forever because birth with friends is the BEST!
