The Birth of Dante - American Fork Hospital Birth Photography

I always say that I don't trust babies. This birth was no different. I got called by Megan early one morning after her water had broken. She was a first-time mom and just 37 weeks, but it was go-time. I was doing doula work and photography for them, so we discussed when to head to the hospital.

They decided to head in around lunchtime, and when they arrived, she was just 2cm dilated. I was a bit surprised based on how intensely she was feeling them. I headed to join them a short time later, and when I arrived, she was laboring strong and coping well. After laboring for hours with very little change, she decided to get an epidural so she could rest and have the energy to push her baby out.

When she woke up, it was baby time! Pushing was long and hard, but Megan was incredible! After four hours of pushing, they welcomed their sweet baby boy into the world. Here are some of my favorite images from that birth.
