So How Does It Work?

1. Schedule your complimentary consultation.

This consultation is a very important step in the doula service process.  The meeting usually takes place at your home or a coffee shop and lasts about 45 minutes. The meeting provides for a great opportunity for you to get to know me and vice versa.  At the first “get to know you” meeting we usually discuss your wants and needs and how you see a doula fitting into your birth experience.

2. Select your birth support package.

My packages allow support with no time constraints. If you have additional needs or requirements, we will discuss them during this time. I will send you an invoice for the deposit and a client intake form so I make note of all the applicable details. Depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy, we will schedule your first prenatal visit.

3. We are officially on this journey together.

As you might imagine, it is very common for us to create a strong bond. We are preparing something very powerful together, and it only makes sense that we connect a lot, so feel free to contact me at any time. There are many times when the families I serve even keep in touch for years after birth.  I love repeat clients and feel honored to attend multiple births for a family!

kind words from PAST clients

  • “My pregnancy was high-risk and stressful so, I knew I was going to need the expert support of a doula. I was able to achieve a VBAC after being induced at 38 weeks! I don’t think it would have happened without Julie’s assistance. Her support gave me the strength to endure over 24 hours of induced labor before getting an epidural and I couldn’t have done that without the knowledge and support she provided. I will always treasure the experience I had with her!”

  • “I cannot even begin to explain how amazing Julie is! My husband and I were hesitant to hire a doula and wondered if we really ‘needed’ one. However, we are so glad we hired Julie, she helped me so much during my pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum that I truly know that I could not have done it without her. So I will, without hesitation, hire Julie for all of our future births. She has such a sweet understanding demeanor and knows her stuff. Julie did an amazing job during my birth to keep me calm and focused on what I really wanted. I truly cannot thank her enough! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a doula, hands down.”

  • ” Julie is everything we needed! She is supportive, knowledgeable, and excels as a doula. She helped tremendously with my pain management, helped guide us on our path to an unmedicated delivery, and as a result, provided tools that I know helped me achieve a VBAC. Her encouragement and faith in me was very apparent. I would recommend Julie to any pregnant mom in a heartbeat.”

  • “Julie is such a wonderful doula as part of my home birth with my fourth baby and she was amazing. She was so supportive of my wants and needs. Not only did she step in when I needed her, she was super respectful of my husband and gave him guidance on how to help and support me. Julie knows so much about birth and is supportive of whatever birth choices someone wants to make! She is a calming presence and will be your biggest cheerleader! She would be a priceless asset to anyone’s birth team!”

    Clarissa S
  • “Julie is absolutely amazing! I was able to have a VBA3C and it would not have happened without her. Julie is a VBAC rock-star! She knows EVERYTHING about them. Not all doulas are created equal and Julie is the type to go above and beyond and really cares about her clients. She was great at giving me info and letting me make decisions and never forcing her opinion on me. I just can’t say enough great things about her. Love her!”
